The wd driver is not a complete driver by itself. It uses the code in 8390.c to do most of the work. The function ei_transmit() in 8390.c is what is linked to dev->hard_start_xmit(), and then ei_transmit will call ei_block_output() which in this case is pointing at wd_block_output(). Paul.
